Cape Town - In commemoration of Heritage Month a popular tourist attraction on the West Coast near Yzerfontein – the Khwa ttu San Education and Culture Centre – has added a new attraction to its list of tours.

The inspired centre recently unveiled its new “Food from the Ancestors” tour, which was initiated to enrich and bolster the tourist experience at the centre, during its annual Heritage Month festival.

Khwa ttu Marketing and Sales liaison officer Bianca Tango said: “Our new tour, Food from the Ancestors, is the perfect addition to our existing tours. The tour explores nature, specifically the plants that were used by the first people in their everyday lives – to cook, as medicine, and also to make tea. We believe that this tour will further enrich our content and sites for all our visitors.”

Officially launched almost 21 years ago, the Khwa ttu centre is a cultural tourist attraction site that was founded to preserve and recognise the lives of the San people.

The centre offers a range of tours that explore and touch on the different aspects of the San people.

“There is so much to do and learn at Khwa ttu, it’s the experience you can share with your family friends and other loved ones. We have food, nature (as in plants with so much history in them), life stories, the complete true experience of San people. I would encourage everyone to come and visit,” said Tango.
