Cape Town – Bothasig police are investigating murder after a woman walking home was robbed and stabbed multiple times at the weekend.

It is believed the woman was walking home from a restaurant close to her home in Richwood when she was robbed of her belongings and stabbed multiple times.

Tanium Securitas Medical Response team said they received a distress call about a woman who was stabbed multiple times and required urgent assistance in Carmine Drive at 2am on Saturday.

On arrival, the woman was found unresponsive in the middle of the road with multiple stab wounds.

“Medical personnel worked tirelessly to stabilise the injured victim. The patient was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died,” the response team said.

“SAPS members received a complaint at the mentioned address and on arrival they spoke to two security officers who were standing with this injured unknown woman.

“She was found with multiple stab wounds to the body. An ambulance was contacted and the woman was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment where she later died due to the injuries sustained,” he said.
