Letter: Netanyahu’s removal could end the Gaza war

The elephant in the room is warlord Benjamin Netanyahu. If Israel were to hold elections next week Netanyahu would be out on his ear, says the writer.

Interesting history lesson from a reader about the land of Israel (Cape Times 10th Oct).

The argument is put forward by the reader that Israel has first grabs on the area as history reflects they were inhabitants centuries ago.

By the same argument it then follows that South Africa should be returned to the San, Australia to the Aborigines and America to the Red Indians.

The salient point in 2024 is what’s to become of the 5 million displaced Palestinians (or Arab Muslims as the reader prefers to call them) should they be herded back into a rebuilt Gaza like sheep under an Israeli Governor ?

Wake up Sir ! Israel is here to stay and going nowhere. That’s a given and cast in stone …. radical utterances by fringe groups claiming “ from the river to the sea” are meaningless …..the attack on Israel by Hezbollah, Yemen and Iran is not an attempt to eradicate Israel but in response to the total destruction of Gaza and the annihilation of almost 45000 Palestinians, half of them innocent women and children.

End the war in Gaza, release all hostages and the attacks on Israel will cease.

The elephant in the room is warlord Benjamin Netanyahu. If Israel were to hold elections next week Netanyahu would be out on his ear.
