Durban — King Misuzulu’s former spokesperson Prince Thulani Zulu is lucky to be alive after surviving a horrific car crash at the weekend.
Prince Zulu was travelling on John Ross highway from Richards Bay to eMpangeni when another car smashed into his car, causing a huge wreck.
Speaking to the Daily News on Monday, the prince who said he was happy to be alive, added that he didn’t know how he had come out unscathed from the accident, which had resulted in extensive damage to his car. He was taken to the doctor for a check up and was released the same day.
“I was travelling from Richards Bay to Empangeni when suddenly a car smashed into my car but I'm fine now as I was not hurt,” said the prince.
Prince Zulu was a spokesperson for the late King Goodwill Zwelithini who died in 2021. He was then asked to speak for King Misuzulu who took over from his father. While Prince Afrika Zulu served as the king’s personal spokesperson, Prince Thulani was attached to the provincial government.
Prince Thulani left office when the Zulu king fell out with many members of his former inner circle. King Misuzulu has no spokesperson currently; the communication now comes directly under the office of the traditional prime minister, Thulasizwe Buthelezi, who is also KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC.
Prince Thulani who now works for King Cetshwayo District Municipality as head of Arts and Culture, started as the late King Zwelithini’s spokesperson after leaving his job as a school principal in Nongoma north in 2011.
