Former “Mommy Club” cast member, Nozipho Ntshangase dropped the first episode of podcast, “Life Lately” this week, featuring a no-holds-barred conversation with her co-reality tv star, Nonkanyiso Conco who is popularly known as Laconco.
The episode, which has garnered over 65, 000 views in just one day, touches on the heart break of polygamy, Laconco’s childhood, motherhood, a bit about the father of her child - former president Jacob Zuma - and her journey in the entertainment industry.
The reality TV star also opened up about being in a polygamous marriage.
When asked if she ever imagined getting married or being in a polygamous marriage, Laconco, answering mostly Zulu, replied: “I have always imagined (a husband in) a suit, tie and a briefcase, I don't know how. I never imagined it (polygomy) for myself. It’s a rubbish lifestyle. I call it a system. It’s a rubbish system, you know in so many ways. And when I say rubbish, I mean you can come in as naive and genuine (woman) as I did, but there are others who don’t like that you are coming in because you are young or a virgin.”
She proceeded to say that to be in a polygamous marriage, you have to have a certain extent of maturity because it is not an easy thing to be in.
Laconco also advised those who are interested in polygamy: “You must stay in your lane, respect others (wives and their children) because it is not about you, it’s your husband’s vision.”
Before appearing on Ntshangase’s podcast, “The Real Housewives of Durban” (RHOD) star, dropped an episode on her YouTube channel last week in which she gave fans an in-depth side of her love story with former president Jacob Zuma.
The mother revealed what led to the demise of her relationship with Zuma, who fathered her only child, a son.
“After the media (attention), the drift and the energy changed. I heard that he was now afraid to come to me because there might be rumours. JZ and I never fought about anything, nothing. He just stopped calling, he just stopped supporting the child and he just stopped seeing me,” she revealed.
Laconco’s relationship with Zuma was a topic of conversation for a while during “The Real Housewives of Durban” days when she captivated the viewers with her personality, style and humorous diary sessions.
However, fans always wanted to know more about her relationship with Zuma, which she never addressed nor talked about on the show.
