The controversial rape-accused music executive, Nhlamulo Baloyi, better known as Nota, has spoken about his prison experience.

Baloyi was this week released from prison after reportedly serving only two weeks of his 60 day sentences. He is now “in house detention with high-risk supervision until January 2025”.

Baloyi had been sentenced to 60 days of direct imprisonment for contempt of court. His arrest is linked to a “defamation of character” civil suit involving notable rapper K.O (Ntokozo Mdluli), after he made damning allegations pertaining to the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.

Speaking to IOL, Baloyi shared his hopes that “the terrorist threat conditions” he has been placed under would be eased by the parole board.

He explained that conditions have him “locked down and unable to attend Sunday services”.

Baloyi was arrested in November at Randburg Magistrates Court while appearing on a different matter. He is currently embroiled in a rape case involving actress Itumeleng Bokaba. The rape case against Baloyi has been postponed to January 28, 2025.

Following his prison stay, Baloyi said that he is “getting therapy to help recover from this traumatic experience.”

Baloyi has had quite a year that saw him inside a court room. In June he finalised his divorce from musician Gugulethu Khumalo, professionally known as Berita.

On Instagram Baloyi wrote; “Marital status: DIVORCED!”, and on X he shared lessons with his followers about his divorce.

“The lesson is to make sure she leaves with nothing of yours & loses half of everything she gained… Another lesson is marry in your class. Bringing someone up out of poverty is like going to bed with a snake that is starving itself to build up the appetite to swallow you whole,” he tweeted.
