“Podcast and Chill” co-host, Sol Phenduka was recently surprised in studio by Unity Music Africa, who presented him with a platinum plaque for his hit song, “Diqabang”.
The song features J Khathapillar, Smash SA and Kamoh Xaba and was released five months ago.
According to the artists, the powerful track delves into the emotional landscape of family conflicts and the resulting feelings of hatred and sadness that can arise.
“‘Diqabang’ is more than just a song; it’s a narrative that resonates with many, shedding light on the often-unspoken issues that occur within families.
“The track explores the complexities and emotional depth of familial relationships, highlighting the pain and turmoil that can come from conflicts,” they said in a statement.
They added that the song aims to foster a sense of understanding and empathy, urging families to address their issues and heal together.
In an Instagram post celebrating the milestone, Unity Music Africa shared a heart-warming video of the plaque presentation, emphasising the importance of the achievement in the music industry.
They wrote in the caption: “Your phenomenal track “Diqabang” has officially reached platinum status! This incredible achievement showcases the dedication, passion, and talent you all bring to the music industry.
“A massive thank you to all the fans for your unwavering support - this milestone wouldn’t have been possible without you. Here’s to celebrating this success and many more musical triumphs ahead! 🌟🥂🎶.”
Grateful for the overwhelming support, Phenduka himself took to social media, expressing his appreciation with a short yet heartfelt message.
