Stone, revered as a pioneer of the neo-soul genre, began her journey in music as part of the female rap trio, The Sequence. She later transformed the industry with her solo career, delivering powerful anthems that resonated deeply with fans, particularly the empowering hit “Brotha”, which speaks to the strength and dignity of black men.
The family emphasised Stone’s role as a beacon of hope and inspiration for black women and girls worldwide. They highlighted her commitment to community service through her foundation, Angel Stripes, which focused on giving back to fans and their communities.
Recently, Stone had also embarked on studies in ministry, driven by her faith and desire to share the message of God, further showcasing her multifaceted character as both an artist and a servant of the community.
Though the tragic circumstances of her death have left a profound void, the Stone family urged fans to keep her legacy alive. "Even though Angie is no longer with us physically, her family wants you to keep her legacy alive," they stated.
