Popular South African iconic rock band, Prime Circle is gearing up for the release of their eighth studio album.
“The World We Know” will be released on Friday, November 29, and comes seven years after their last acclaimed album, “If You Don’t You Will Never”.
The new project marks a new era for their band with the addition of seasoned vocalist, Gavin Edwards who is now their lead singer and co-songwriter.
Edwards was appointed after Ross Learmonth exited the group last December due to “creative differences”, after a 23-year career.
Since February Edwards has seamlessly joined bassist Marco Gomes, guitarist Dirk Bisschoff, drummer Dale Schnettler and keyboardist Neil Breytenbach.
Together they released two songs, “Better Days” and “What We Got”, which will be on the new album.
Other songs include “Renegade”, “Standing Over Me”, “Wherever This May Go”, “Calling On Angels”, “Down The Middle”, “I Do”, “Lost In A Crowd” and “Clocks”.
Produced by German producer, Timon Seid, the new album reflects their commitment to creating music that resonates deeply with their local fans, while also appealing to international audiences.
“This global connection fuels their excitement to return to Europe on tour and share their latest work on an even broader stage,” read a statement.
Gomes shared that the excitement they feel for this release is unmatched.
“With Gavin Edwards’s incredible vocals and the new energy within the whole band and our team. We believe together we’ve created something truly special. This album celebrates where we’ve been and where we’re headed.”
To celebrate the album’s launch, Prime Circle will embark on a nationwide South African coastal tour soon, giving fans the chance to experience “The World We Know” live.
The tour will extend internationally with performances in Germany at the beginning of 2025.
Breytenbach said: “Seeing people’s reactions, watching them connect with the music, and hearing them sing the lyrics back - it’s an indescribable feeling that makes everything worthwhile.
“We’ve already felt that energy with the first two singles, and we can’t wait to see the same connection with the rest of the album. I hope these new songs resonate just as deeply with our fans.”
