The award-winning musician Sho Madjozi is gearing up for the release of her third and final album, much to the disbelief of her loyal fans.
Sho Madjozi announced on her social media platforms that she would be dropping the lead single to the album “Limpopo Champions League vol.2”, which she said would be her last.
“Tomorrow, I drop the lead single for what will be my third and last album. It’s been the wildest possible ride. Grateful for most of it. Limpopo Champions League vol.2,” she wrote.
Speaking to SABC News, Sho Madjozi confirmed it would be her last album.
“There's quite a lot of reasons, I think the main one is that I feel that I have said everything I feel like I needed to say through music.
“I said a lot I've done a lot about culture, about language, about air, about you know being able to be say a woman without necessarily being hypersexualized and all those are all points I wanted to make and I made them and I think I made them very well.”
Sho Madjozi, real name Maya Christinah Xichavo Wegerif, will be venturing into her other talents, such as documentary filmmaking.
She’s received funding from National Geographic as she explores her other interests.
Showing no signs of slowing down, Sho Madjozi is already gearing up to drop the music video to her most recent single, “Ndirine” featuring top charting artists, Makhadzi and Gatsheni.
Maskhandi singer Gatsheni was one of the biggest winners at the 2024 South African Music Awards after being crowned Male Artist of the Year and also walked away with Best Maskandi Album awards for “Uyihlo noNyoko”.
Makhadzi this year, made headlines with her BET Award for Best New International Act.
For her last project, Sho Madjozi is going all out and exploring all her musical dreams.
