If you’re a fan of Mzansi's celebrities, you won’t want to miss the gripping fifth season of “Behind The Story”, now airing on SABC2.

The engaging talk show, which previously premiered on BET Africa (DStv channel 129), has now been acquired by the free-to-air channel for more South Africans to watch.

Hosted by award-winning radio and TV personality, Nomalanga “The Flame” Shozi, viewers will be taken on a profound journey of local celebrity guests.

Season five promises to delve deep into the stories that go beyond the headlines.

Unlike traditional talk shows, “Behind The Story” provides a unique platform for local celebrities to recount their personal narratives, offering a rare glimpse into the truths that define them beyond their public persona’s.

As the show progresses, viewers can anticipate a celebration of achievements, as well as opportunities for these luminaries to confront and clarify the controversies often surrounding their lives.

The line-up features an impressive roster of A-Listers including Norma Mngoma, Reason, Bongani Fassie, Da Les, Gugu Khathi, Zoe Modiga, Tebogo Lerole, Moshidi Motshegoa, Vusi Nova, Maleh and Teko Modise.

With each episode, viewers will experience thrilling adventures through the vibrant streets of Johannesburg, exploring iconic destinations from Vilakazi Street to the trendy Maboneng Precinct.

These locations hold special meanings and memories for the guests, allowing them to share poignant stories of their breakthroughs and the hometowns that shaped their careers.

She added that this season is not just about uncovering the truth behind the headlines but also about celebrating the journeys of some of South Africa’s most iconic figures.

Through her reign as host, Shozi was introduced to a variety of personalities with distinctive stories, however, she hinted that guests like Bongani Fassie making for particularly colourful interviews.

She said during the show, viewers will get to know and experience the human behind the image of their favourite celebrities: “We discuss everything about the makings of a star from childhood, to their challenges and triumphs as they grow and evolve in their respective industries.

“What’s even more exciting is going down memory lane and getting to visit the different places that symbolise different points in their journey as artists and stars. Getting to be at the helm of the show as we bring the viewer along for the ride makes it all so exciting!

As to why she enjoys returning to host the show, Shozi said: “I keep coming back because I absolutely love telling authentically South African stories.”

Beyond “Behind The Story”, viewers can expect new projects on-screen and even more engaging content from Shozi off-screen, promising a refreshing connection with her audience.
