R&B superstar Johnny Gill, is ready to serenade fans with some of his greatest hits in Pretoria on Friday, October 11.

Fans can look forward to hearing classics like “My, My, My”and “Rub You the Right Way”, among many more songs from his illustrious solo career and group performances.

The Grammy-nominated artist has made a name for himself over the decades as a solo artist as well as with New Edition, alongside Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Ronnie DeVoe and Ralph Tresvant.

He was also a member of the supergroup called LSG, with Gerald Levert and Keith Sweat.

With eight solo albums under his belt and 15 million copies worldwide as a solo artist, Gill is renowned for his powerful voice, soulful lyrics and charismatic stage presence.

The American singer-songwriter and actor has received two Grammy Award nominations: one with New Edition and one as a solo artist.

He will also perform in Sun City in the North West on Saturday, October 12, and as part of his South African concerts, he is inviting fans to wear red and black.

Old Mutual Music in the Gardens presents Lloyiso and Shekhinah live in Johannesburg

The Old Mutual Music in The Gardens is hosting its second concert in the series, which features music sensations Lloyiso and Shekhinah as the headliners alongside Manana and Filah Lah Lah.

“Imagine a stunning spring afternoon at the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, where families and music lovers gather to experience an unforgettable day filled with live music and nature,” the organisers said.

“Spread out your picnic blankets, relax under the shade of beach-style umbrellas, and enjoy a beautiful afternoon surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the gardens.”

Apart from enjoying the outdoors with loved ones, the event’s musical line-up is sure to be a highlight as the duo takes to the stage.

Lloyiso’s rise to stardom has been meteoric, from his early beginnings on “Idols SA” to becoming the first South African artist signed to Republic Records.

Known for his powerful voice and emotive performances, Lloyiso has captivated audiences both locally and internationally with hits like “Seasons” and “Let Me Love You Now”.

His global fan base grew from viral covers of chart-toppers by Rihanna and Billie Eilish, establishing him as a dynamic force in the music industry.

Meanwhile, Shekhinah’s smooth blend of pop and R&B has made her one of South Africa’s leading female artists.

With hits like “Suited” and “Back to the Beach”, she has received numerous awards, including several South African Music Awards (Samas) and Afrima wins.

Manana will also bring his signature style that fuses soulful melodies with heartfelt lyrics, making him one of South Africa’s most exciting young musicians. In addition, Filah Lah Lah, who recently released her debut album “On Air”, fuses, neo-soul, R&B, hip hop and rap into Afrobeats and house while still mixing her own experimental folk music.

This family-friendly event also invites attendees to bring their food and to make it an authentic picnic experience. While drinks and hard cooler boxes are not allowed, vendors will be on site offering refreshments.

Music lovers are encouraged to take along small umbrellas and camping chairs. Gazebos and pass-outs will not be allowed.

The highly anticipated annual YouthX (YX) festival returns with an electrifying line-up of top artists.

Amapiano pioneer Kabza De Small will headline the event, which is hosted by Nedbank, and he will share the stage with Thakzin, Mörda, Blxckie, Shakes & Les, Maglera Doe Boy and more.

“YX24 transcends the boundaries of a mere festival as it symbolises the strength of youth, innovation and creativity,” a statement read.

The festival will host the 2024 YouthX Awards, where young talents and trailblazers who are making waves in their communities, will be celebrated.
