Barely two weeks after the official announcement of the all-new C-Class Mercedes-Benz, Affalterbach has released details of the sexed-up AMG-Line version, which will be shown for the first time at the Detroit motor show next month.
And no, Cyril, this is not an early leak of the sledgehammer C63 AMG - that's not due for release until October 2014. This is a purely cosmetic package and, as such, you could theoretically order it on just about any variant of the new C-Class.
PERFORMANCE-STYLE BLING
The AMG front bumper and apron, with its mesh grille and prominent splitter, adds a bit of performance-style bling to a front end that's already quite aggressive by recent Mercedes-Benz standards - although that chromed blade is likely to be uncomfortably vulnerable to ill-tempered speed bumps and car-park kerbs.
No such problem with the polished-aluminium window surrounds, however, or the obligatory, well tucked-in diffuser, framed by dual ovoid tailpipes, even though the AMG-Line specification includes revised springs and dampers for a 15mm lower ride height.
AMG-Line C-Class sedans will roll on special on 18" five-spoked alloys finished in titanium grey with polished highlights, over uprated brakes with drilled discs and Mercedes Benz-branded callipers.
