Anderson brings out R8's dark side

German-based tuning company Anderson describes the Audi R8 5.2-litre V10 as being practically perfect, but it's clearly not perfect enough to avoid some loud and beastly tinkering.

Luckily that boastful new styling package is backed up by an increase in power, compliments of a lighter Rennkat exhaust system, optimised engine software and modified air filter. These changes bump the power output up from 386kW at 8000rpm to 439kW at 8700rpm, while torque has "grown accordingly."

And we told you it was loud, the exhaust path having a remote-controlled valve adjusting system that lets the driver opt from three different levels of noise.

We're not sure you'll agree with Anderson's sentiments on the styling mods that this R8 has been saddled with. They reckon it "somehow has the look of a UFO - albeit fantastically beautiful," the rear spoiler that automatically rises at 100km/h being another selling point in their view.

The collection of external bits and bobs entails bespoke carbon-coated 19-inch rims painted to match the 'Hyper Black' body colour and with edging (and visible brake callipers) in orange. Then there's a carbon body kit that covers parts like the front spoiler lip, rear spoiler and diffuser and the mirrors.

Let's not forget the complete window tinting to hide the pimped interior, which has been splashed with various black and orange components that serve as a constant reminder that Audi's own design features are too dull for your brash tastes.
