Stuttgart - Mercedes-Benz has every intention of eventually crashing the BMW X6's party and the Concept Coupé SUV closely previews what the Stuttgart clan have up their sleeves.
While Mercedes-Benz remains tight-lipped about the concept and production version, the company has at least skipped the skimpy teaser pic phase and provided us with a full front-three-quarter image.
Just like the X6, the concept has five doors and a coupé-like sloping roofline that will give it a fairly aggressive presence on the road. From the front, it remains faithful to the design language seen on the GLA, although the bigger grille hints at its performance potential.
Most sources speculate that the production car will use the MLC nameplate, and naturally it'll be based upon the latest ML-Class SUV. Likely engine choices include a 190kW 3-litre turbodiesel, 245kW 3-litre turbopetrol and AMG's 410kW 5.5-litre V8 in the MLC 63 version.
Expect more pictures and information about the Concept Coupé SUV when it gets revealed at the Beijing Motor Show later this month.
