Hyundai has pulled the covers off the latest version of its answer to muscle cars like the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger.
The facelifted Hyundai Genesis Coupe, sadly not slated for South African sale any time soon, will make its first appearance at the Detroit Motor Show early next year.
Although the basic shape remains unchanged, it sports a new front end that's more in line with the daring styling tone we've seen on newer Hyundai products like the i40 and Veloster - including a hexagonal grille and shapelier headlights.
The rear-wheel drive coupe offers some serious grunt in flagship V6 form, with its new direct injection 3.8-litre mill reportedly putting out 257kW and 400Nm.
Hyundai also offers a tamer option in the form of a new 157kW/302Nm 2-litre turbopetrol that was first introduced in the Sonata abroad. Both engines can be mated to either a six-speed manual or Hyundai's new eight-speed automatic transmission.
