Hyundai has released the first rendering that previews its new compact hatch for the Brazilian market.
Although this i20-based hatch (codenamed HB20) was designed for the Brazilian market, there has been speculation that it will be sold in other developing nations, which opens the possibility of it being sold in South Africa as a Toyota Etios and Polo Vivo fighter.
South American versions will be offered with a choice of two petrol engines - a 63kW 1-litre and 96kW 1.6-litre - but don't rule out the possibility of 1.2- and 1.4-litre options if the car is sold in other markets.
The Brazilian HB family is also set to be expanded next year with sedan and pretend-SUV versions of the hatchback you see here.
