Less than two weeks before its planned unveiling at the New York Auto Show, pictures of the new Range Rover Sport - baring all - have made their way onto the web.

While staying true to the design language of the latest Range Rover , the more compact Sport has a more athletic profile and a closer resemblance to the Evoque, particularly from behind.

All the technical details and performance figures are still under wraps, but Land Rover did promise, in its teaser announcement, that the Sport will be the fastest vehicle that the company has ever produced.

It almost goes without saying, though, that it will share its engine range with the new Range Rover, which offers 375kW V8 and 250kW V6 petrol engines, both supercharged, and a 190kW/600Nm 3-litre V6 diesel.

Watch this space for the official reveal on 26 March.
