Volkswagen has become a champion at creating amusingly-named versions of its Up city car in Europe.
But it's not stopping at the Move Up, High Up, Take Up, Black Up and White Up three-door versions that have already been launched.
VW has just announced four design studies based on more practical five-door Up.
Because the models will be shown at the Geneva Motor Show, the first one mentioned is the Swiss Up concept, created because the Up is “as versatile as a Swiss Army Knife.
Inside and out, the Swiss Up reflects the colours of the Swiss flag and the seatbacks even have pouches for storing a pocket knife.
Even more adventurous is the Winter Up, created for the ski slopes and equipped with raised suspension and snowboards on the roof. Similar in concept but kitted out for night adventures is the X Up, which has a roof box with built-in searchlights.
Lastly, there's the Cargo Up, which is the one with the most chance of actually reaching production as, like the name implies, it is a practical panel van with a 1400-litre and 426kg payload.
HOW ABOUT THESE, VW?
Yet besides that last one, we can't imagine any of the aforementioned versions being of much use to many people, so we've come up with some of our own suggestions.
Chin Up: Designed to alter people's moods when they're feeling down, this one has an incense holder and a small dispenser for prescription medication.
Bulk Up: created for fast food lovers, the Bulk Up comes with extra stowage compartments specifically designed for fast food packaging as well as extra-large cup holders to accommodate those oversized sodas.
Screw Up: Not the abomination you might expect, instead the name eludes to its romantic mood lighting and fold-flat front and rear seats.
Hurry Up: Fitted with a bigger and more powerful turbocharged engine, this one's for those that don't want to perform the stereotypical city car antic of getting in everyone's way.
Giddy Up: Was going to be the name for the Hurry Up, but the name now adorns an equestrian version complete with saddle-like seats and a horse box that the car will probably battle to tow.
Make Up: Designed for multi-tasking drivers and comes with a mirror built in to the steering wheel.
