While nifty marketing strategies are a dime a dozen these days, this one could actually help you get lucky - according to Volkswagen's agency Ogilvy.
Volkswagen South Africa has just announced what it calls the country's largest 'matchmaking' drive, a campaign in which certain 'lucky' people will get to use a VW Polo GTI on a date.
While remaining anonymous, the daters will collect the vehicle before picking up their prospective partners who will be unaware that the car is actually on loan for their first date.
To further increase their dating prowess, participants will be given a handy 'dating kit', jam-packed with cologne, mouth spray and other essentials which can assist in making the date a success.
Daters are encouraged to broadcast their experience to the public, sending Twitter updates as the date progresses - try not to look like too much of a geek though.
Followers of the Date Drive will be able to track the date online through the Date Drive website and Twitter, reading the (undoubtedly comical) updates and monitoring the highs and lows of the experience, as the daters wear heart rate monitors that register readings for all to see.
The next morning the dater will return the car and conduct an anonymous 'dating post-mortem', a voluntary video interview shared on Twitter, Facebook and the official site.
The campaign kicks off on 30 May and if you're keen on bolstering your chances with someone on the superficial side of the spectrum, sign up by logging onto: www.datedrive.co.za
