Budapest - A Hungarian TV weatherman appealed for a job on Facebook on Tuesday after a prank windy weather report he filed featuring farting noises backfired.

“Hello everybody! Help me if you can! I won’t be able to continue... on TV 2 reporting the weather forecast,” Horvath Szilard wrote on his profile.

“I still want to buy toy cars for my 4-year-old son Sebi and need work! If somebody crosses your mind who could be interested in my CV, please message me here or write me,” he added.

TV2 channel - until recently owned by oligarch and ally of conservative Prime Minister Viktor Orban Andy Vajna - fired Horvath

earlier in April after he recorded a weather report on windy conditions peppered with recorded sounds of flatulence.

The video was quickly pulled from the TV channel’s website, but is still available on the internet.

Horvath said that the reaction to his attempt at humour was “blown out of proportion.”

“If [comic character] Mr Bean or Benny Hill farts, everyone laughs, but now a big deal is being made about this,” Horvath complained afterwards on the 444.hu web portal, admitting that the stunt was his idea.
