Tuks FM has achieved remarkable success at the International Student Broadcast Championships (ISBC) and the Telkom Radio Awards, showcasing its commitment to excellence in student broadcasting.
The University of Pretoria’s student radio station has been hailed for continuing to solidify its reputation as a leader in the student and community broadcasting space.
The station took home three prestigious awards at the ISBC. The awards were for best talk presenter for Tshegofatso Makola and best specialty presenter for Tshepi Moji, respectively.
The station also walked away with an award for Best Social Media Execution, which went to UP FM Rebrand Stunt.
Additionally, the station was also named runner-up in the highly competitive Station of the Year category, underscoring its excellence across various facets of broadcasting.
But that was not all. Tuks FM also emerged victorious at the Telkom Radio Awards, taking home four awards.
The awards are best weekend show for Tuks FM Top 40 with Neliswa Mhlongo, best community project for FLY@UP Thrift, best daytime show for Tuks FM Brunch with Zanele Ndala, and best promotions/stunt event for freshers.
These awards are a testament to Tuks FM's commitment to producing top-notch programming, engaging with the community, and delivering innovative content to its audience.
Station Manager Lwazi Mpofu expressed pride in the team's accomplishments, saying that these awards reflect the dedication and talent of the entire Tuks FM team
