The property comprises two pack houses with cooling systems; four houses; a flat; staff housing; storage; a school and a crèche. It is being sold as a going concern, including all loose equipment.
♦ Farm Blinkwater, near Touws River: 210.92ha with 42.7ha under vine with Crimson Seedless and Arra15 varietals. Export certification and audit reports are available.
♦ Farm Lushof, near Trawal: 45.94ha of which 31.24 are planted with two varietals. Susan Turner, managing director of Knight Frank, says South Africa is globally the ninth largest producer and fifth largest exporter of table grapes, which remain one of the most important deciduous fruits grown in the country, considering foreign exchange earnings and employment creation.
“Table grape export numbers have been running higher year-on-year, with improved markets and diversification opportunities and the industry remains profitable and export-relevant.
“Competition from bidders for this opportunity will be high,” she adds. Knight Frank is facilitating the sealed-bid auction in association with Michael James Organisation. Auction registration commenced on August 4 and bidding will close at noon on August 31.
