Johannesburg - This week we feature South African rapper, songwriter, and record producer Nasty C.

The rapper, whose full name is Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, is a multi-award-winning rapper who hails from Durban.

Recently signed to Def Jam Records, the rapper has been the most streamed South African artist on Apple Music for four years in a row.

With more than 120 million streams, Nasty C’s second effort, Strings And Bling, was the most streamed South African and African album on the streaming platform in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The album also spawned three multi-platinum singles – King, Jungle and the radio smash, SMA – as well as the platinum single, Strings And Bling.

A further 14 songs off this album were certified gold.

You are able to collaborate with any musician in the world. Who do you choose?

Rihanna. I really like her style of singing, her voice, and I feel like it would match my style also.

Tell us about the worst date you've ever had...?

I’ve never been on a real date.

What is the one thing that has caught your attention on social media in the last week?

I don’t really go on social media like that, just to look at what other people are posting.

You’re on death row. You are allowed one last meal and drink. What do you choose to have?

I choose either phutu and maas (sour milk) or stiff bread and pontjies (beans). To drink it could be any soda or juice. Stiff bread and pontjies go really well with a soda like Sprite or Coke, something that kicks, you know.

You are able to take on any SA celeb in a charity 12 round boxing match. Who do you choose to go up against?

I don’t know. I don’t have anyone in mind that I would pick to just fight like that, but I guess anyone that’s in my size or weight class.

You are only able to shop at one store for the rest of your life. What store do you choose?

Zara. It is very efficient and you can get anything you want. Anything you can imagine. They have good quality and it will probably look nice too.

Tupac or Biggie? Who was better?

That wasn’t my era. I really haven’t listened to them. I listened to the hits that everyone listens to, but I wouldn’t be able to tell you who’s better. They were just dope artists, both of them, legends. I’m more like in the Wayne era.

You are asked to come up with your very own unique kota. What are the main fillings that go into your kota?

I’m not a foodie, and so this question is a little hard for me to answer. When I make myself a sandwich I don’t go that crazy. I keep it very simple, I’m a very simple guy. In a Kota, it would probably just be a bunch of random stuff that I like. I would put a lot of cheese, prawns. I might add one more other type of meat, maybe bacon or a vienna. And obviously a hot sauce of some sort, like Nandos.

The top three Netflix shows that all South Africans should be watching are… ?

Everyone should be watching these shows and not just South Africans. My favourite shows are Squid Game, Blacklist and Lucifer.
