Sun City was the brainchild of one of SA’s most genius minds and entrepreneurs Sol Kerzner and he opened the resort with much fanfare and glamour on December 7, 1979. I was very fortunate and privileged to attend the glittering ceremony with my late parents . Over the years I have been back so many times and last weekend I was a judge at The Miss World SA pageant and a guest at The Palace.

At sunrise I climbed up to the very top of the King's Tower to witness this spectacular sight.
The exquisite interior of the Palace is timeless and elegant and pays homage to Africa and all her beauty.
The Crystal Room remains in my opinion as still one of the most magnificent and celebrated dining spaces with its jaw dropping architecture and plush interior.
The inside of the great dome of the grand lobby of the Palace is breathtaking. Made from hundreds of thousands of mosaics, tiles, metals and depicting Africa's fauna and flora.
Another spectacular view from the King's Tower of the African landscape, pure natural artistry.
This man-made Romanesque amphitheatre is another example of Sol's visionary genius in creating the fable of THE LOST CITY.
The ruins of the Roman baths are authentic looking and breathtaking to see.
