CAPE TOWN – Thabo Nodada’s outstanding season for Cape Town City received yet another endorsement when he was nominated for the MTN8 Last Man Standing award.

The prize is for the best player of the early season cup competition that features the top eight clubs from the previous campaign. City lost to SuperSport United in the final of the tournament.

Nodada has been nominated alongside then-SuperSport striker Jeremy Brockie (he has since joined Mamelodi Sundowns) and the Pretoria club’s goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.

For Nodada, this is just another indication that his career is on the right track.

“I’m extremely happy,” said Nodada. “It’s just the turn of events. I recently won the Player of the Season award at my club and now I have a chance to appear at the PSL awards ceremony for my performance in the MTN8.

“But obviously, and even more so, to represent Cape Town City, to stand up for Cape Town City. The PSL awards are a big thing, it’ll be my first time and I’m excited, I’m even anxious about the suit…

“Everything just seems to be coming into my stride and I’m really excited about it.”
