Kaizer Chiefs’ star playmaker Lebogang Manyama has lived to tell the tale after surviving a horror car crash on Tuesday.

The Amakhosi confirmed on Wednesday morning that the Bafana Bafana midfielder was on his way home from training when the accident happened.

@PigSpotter on Twitter posted that the incident occurred on the N1 north after the Malibongwe Interchange in Johannesburg, and three cars were “rolled”.

The back of Manyama’s BMW was smashed in, while the rest of the car appears to be a write-off.

But Chiefs said that the player thankfully emerged relatively unscathed.

“He was rushed to hospital for examinations and x-rays. Doctors treated him for minor injuries to his knee and elbow and he has since been discharged,” the club said on their website.

“Manyama will be assessed further by the doctors to determine the extent of the injuries and advise when he will be fit to train again.”

It is unclear if the 28-year-old Manyama will be fit enough to feature for Chiefs in Sunday’s Telkom Knockout last-16 clash against Black Leopards at the FNB Stadium (3.30pm kickoff).
