Though he may believe he is a shrewd tactician, Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi says he is by no means another Jose Mourinho.

This comes after Chiefs’ 2-0 defeat to Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday. Oswin Appollis scored the opener in the 17th minute and Mokibelo Ramabu sealed the contest on the stroke of full time for City.

The defeat was the third of Chiefs’ league campaign, matching the number of wins they have collected under Nabi who took the reigns at the beginning of the season.

Perhaps an even bigger frustration for Nabi, was that his charges were the dominant team in the encounter against Polokwane.

Dominant Chiefs, nothing to show for it

Chiefs reeled off 17 shots at goal to the nine of Polokwane and the Soweto Giants also enjoyed 66% possession.

Nabi began by saying how happy he was with the chances his side creates.

“I think we’re the best team in the PSL to create [scoring] opportunities. We don’t have another solution, only to continue to work seriously,” Nabi told SuperSport after the game.

“But I don’t want my club to go and cry, no, no, no. I have confidence in my players, and I have confidence in the future. We’re in the right direction; the owners know what we want.

“We’re clear: I’ve confidence in my staff and myself. I don’t worry. Kaizer Chiefs will come back. I’m sure 200%.”

Nabi rung the changes at half-time, but the coach hinted at his frustration when he said: “… [substitutions] maybe sometimes the player is not in [performing in the game] …this is football, it’s not every time that you change, and you change all. I’m not Mourinho; I’m Nabi.”
