Bradley Grobler scored a late winner as SuperSport United beat Richards Bay 1-0 in a Betway Premiership smash-and-grab at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Friday evening.
In a low-key game in KwaZulu-Natal, Richards Bay thought they had done enough to earn a point from the encounter. In fact, they could have walked away with something, but Nkosikhona Ndaba's first half penalty was kept out by SuperSport United's Thakasani Mbanjwa.
Neither side would have felt they were the better team during the game, and a draw would have been a fair result. However, following a poor clearance after a cross from the right, veteran Grobler picked up the loose ball and put it in the back of the net.

When the goal went in, there was too little time for the Natal Rich Boys to respond, and Gavin Hunt's men left the King Zwelithini Stadium with all three points.
The result leaves the KZN side rooted to the foot of the Betway Premiership, with just five points from their 10 games, while Matsatsantsa's first win in four games saw them climb up to seventh place.
SuperSport United's next assignment in the league will see them host newly promoted giant killer gillers Magesi FC on December 14. On the same day, Richards Bay will tackle Golden Arrows in a KZN derby.
In upcoming games this weekend, TS Galaxy take on AmaZulu, Marumo Gallant face Magesi FC, and Sekhukhune United host Cape Town City. On Sunday afternoon, Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to mover further up the league table when they play Polokwane City.
Nkosikhona Ndaba will be thinking about this penalty for a long time 😔
