CAPE TOWN – Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is proving to be the ultimate bae to Sbahle Mpisane.

While “fitness bunnie” Mpisane recovers from a horrendous car crash in Durban’s St Augustine’s Hospital, Khune took time to participate in a special prayer and workout session in honour of his girlfriend on Sunday.

Khune was in KwaZulu-Natal and played for Chiefs on Friday night in an Absa Premiership match against Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Amakhosi captain stated on Twitter on Saturday that he was going to visit his “Queeno” Mpisane, and on Sunday, added a poster of a “Workout & Prayer Session” at the UKZN Howard College campus.

The fitness part was conducted by Mpisane’s training partner, Yolanda Sokhela, while former Idols winner Khaya Mthethwa – who is also a pastor – led the prayers.

“Thank you very much to @yolanda_sokhela 4 a great workout and also a BIG shoutout to #UKZN Team for hosting us and making sure that we had a venue to do what @sbahle_mpisane loves lastly to everyone who came through and graced the event with their presence #GODIsGREAT,” Khune tweeted on Monday.

The match will take place at 3pm at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.
