Kelvin Momo, known off-stage as Thato Ledwaba, has just dropped his fifth studio album, “Sewe”, and it's already making history.

Released on August 9, this album has become a massive hit, racking up over 1.328 million streams on its very first day in South Africa alone, according to Spotify.

The album has quickly become a fan favourite, hitting 15 million streams in less than a month. “Sewe” features 30 tracks that perfectly blend Momo’s smooth, jazzy vibes with the popular rythmns of amapiano, creating a soundtrack that feels both fresh and familiar.

Momo shared his emotional reaction to the album's success on social media.

He wrote: “TEARS OF JOY 🥹 SEWE (MY GRANDMOTHER) Got the feeling ♥️ thank you so much to everyone that has been listening to the album and a special shout-out to @donjuliosa for an amazing album launch. We on 15 million plus streams.”

It comes as no surprise that the album is ringing in the ears of fans who have been raving about his undeniable talent, drawing on the various genres but still making it feel like home.
