Bonang Matheba fans unite to get her crowned as Miss Universe pageant host

South African netizens are rooting for celebrated multi-media personality, Bonang Matheba to host the 2024 Miss Universe pageant.

Matheba has successfully hosted numerous world-class events and beauty pageants over her two-decade-long career.

This includes the 2018, 2023 and 2024 Miss SA pageant, the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards pre-show and the 2018 Global Citizen: Mandela 100 concert among others events.

Now fans are pushing for her to be given the opportunity to host the prestigious Miss Universe beauty pageant.

Taking to social media platform X, Luna M, also known as @tiredfeminist_, posted: “I need Bonang to host Miss Universe soon! Yes her outfits eat, but she has perfected this gig so much, I can’t think of a better person.”

Another user, @SelfieRunnerZA, then tagged Anne Jakrajutatip, CEO of JKN Global Group, who owns the Miss Universe Organisation, and asked her to consider Matheba for the coveted hosting job.

“Dear @annejknofficial we would really appreciate if @Bonang can kindly please host Miss Universe. We’ve been tagging @MissUniverse the whole day today. Please please do consider this request 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾,” read the post.

This post was viewed over 619k times and shared by numerous other social media users, until it got the attention of Jakrajutatip, who wrote back: “Beautiful…”

To further advocate for Matheba, fans shared clips of her during the 2024 Miss SA ceremony as well as past events that she’s hosted.

Meanwhile @DJMaverickZA called Matheba “Africa’s best live television host”.

We’ve seen the power of South Africans on social media over and over again, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Matheba does go on to host the Miss Universe pageant.
