An interactive ranger guide booklet has been launched to enhance children' experience at the Crocworld Conservation Centre.
The booklet has been sponsored by conservation education organisation WildED in collaboration with Wild Alliance Africa, a non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting the planet’s biodiversity.
The user-friendly booklet features educational enrichment activities focusing on the iconic animals found at Crocworld, as well as the indigenous fauna and flora.
“The Ranger Guide was a way for us to provide youngsters with real value when visiting the park. It provides additional information and activities to do at Crocworld, deepening their knowledge and experience even beyond their visit!” says Wild Alliance Africa Founder, Russel Symcox.
He added that the many benefits of the engaging book are reconnecting kids with the natural world, encouraging learning in a fun and exciting way while promoting physical activity as they run around the park, ticking off the critters.
Designed and created by collaborative partner, Kayliegh Haysmen of Wild Kids Books; with input from Crocworld experts and conservationists, the Ranger Guide features maps, resident Crocworld creatures to spot, a nature scavenger hunt and fun facts. The booklet is available at Crocworld Curio Shop, and costs R85 with proceeds used to fund educational initiatives run by WildED’s Learner Hub.
