AWARD-winning music star Cassper Nyovest hosted a press conference at Mmabatho Convention Centre to clarify crucial subjects about his highly anticipated Fill Up Mmabatho Stadium.

Refiloe Phoolo, fondly known as Cassper Nyovest, is set to go back to his home town in the North West, where he will fill up Mmabatho Stadium on December 3.

The executive mayor, Tshepiso Mphehlo, was also part of the conference and shared how the concert would help drive economic activity in the province.

Produced by Bridge Entertainment, the event will see local heavyweights including Kamo Mphela, Nasty C and Blxckie.

The Mama I Made It hitmaker shared the significance of the concert, highlighting that he wanted the community of Mmabatho to benefit from the event, particularly young people.

“There is no place like home; to be doing this show in my hometown is a dream come true, and to be doing this with some of the best artists in the game right now is even more exciting. Some of my favourite artists from Mahikeng are here and ready to perform. We are grateful for the support of our local community, and it’s about to be a big show,” he said

He also pointed out their ultimate goal: to bring the excitement back to Mahikeng and also influence the music industry.

“While I am still who I am, I want to bring a certain vibe to Mafikeng, not only this weekend, but there are a lot of properties that we want to build incubators in my industry.”

Asked if he anticipated the concept of Fill Up thriving, he said all he wanted to do was fill up the dome but later received requests to do more.

“When we created fill up, I just wanted to fill up the dome, and that was my plan,” he said.

Following concerns about the structural safety of Mmabatho Stadium, Nyovest and his team explained that an inspection was done to ensure that the stadium was adequate for the big day.

He further added that music fans could expect a great show that will be star-studded and also see a boost from local rising stars and surprise acts.

The theme is “Full Circle”, which emanates (from) the nostalgia of coming home.

Certainly not new to this, Nyovest has successfully sold out venues, and there is no doubt that he will do it again! His previous Fill Up shows were staged at The Dome, FNB Stadium, Orlando Stadium, Royal Bafokeng Stadium and Moses Mabhida Stadium.

“This is a big moment for me; this stadium is a walk away from my grandmother’s house, and I am coming back home to perform for my people. I cannot wait to put on an unforgettable show for the people of Bokone Bophirima! This is one for the books,” he said.

Speaking on the business of Fill Up, Lerato “T-Lee” Moiloa, Nyovest’s business manager and co-founder said they were proud of the strides they had made as a business and how the event had grown in supporting local talent, local businesses and how it had also made Nyovest an even better artist and performer.

“Also, we are thrilled to have more women in our business in decision-making positions, competent and about the business,” said T-Lee.

Nyovest is also releasing his new single, Bana Ba Stout, a song where he celebrates South African women. As a well-travelled man, he believes South Africa has the most beautiful women in the world.
