The Green Buddies Environmental Club celebrated the creativity of pupils and their commitment to environmental stewardship at the 4th annual Water Week competition and presentation ceremony at Hirsch's Umhlanga over the weekend.
The top 25 posters selected from entries across various schools, all emphasising the critical importance of water conservation and sustainable practices, were showcased.
Ashlin Ellan, chairperson of the club, said: "We are incredibly proud of the young learners who participated in this competition. Their creativity and understanding of the importance of water conservation are truly inspiring. It is vital that we continue to educate and empower our youth to take an active role in environmental stewardship. Events like these show that the future of our planet is in good hands."
Nasreen Mohammed, branch manager of Hirsch's Homestore in Umhlanga, said: “We always jump at the opportunity to be part of events like these because we believe in the power of community and the impact we can make together. We are proud to stand alongside the learners during this journey."
