Bloemfontein - A woman was raped, allegedly by her employer, at a well known Bloemfontein sports pub’s toilet, Free State police said on Thursday.
Constable Peter Kareli said the incident happened on Wednesday.
“It is alleged that while on-duty, the victim felt the need to go to the toilet. While she was in the toilet, she heard a loud bang and the toilet door opened. It was the victim’s 46-year-old employer,” said Kareli.
Kareli said the employer did not utter a word but allegedly grabbed the victim by her neck, pressed the victim on the floor and raped her.
The victim, 23, waited until her shift ended and went to report the matter to the police.
The man was arrested by Navalsig police and charged with rape, and would appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court soon.
