From swiping right to finding Mr Right, The Dead Tinder Society is a dating comedy set firmly in the 21st century.

The play is a two-hander that looks at Jodie and her friend Ray, both recovering from a broken marriage. The pair bond over the loss, pain and betrayal they have experienced. Ray also decides to download the Tinder app.

Rediscovering herself, Jodie has trouble resurrecting her love life while being a single mom with a baby and toddler.

The show, by Ashleigh Harvey, takes a look at life through lust, one-night stands, rage, heartbreak, desire, friendship and loyalty.

The pair soon discover that dating in 2022 is very different to dating in the 90s. What started as an experiment to see who’s out there, and to see if they can make any real connections, soon turns upside down.

Before she knows it, Jodie finds herself entangled in weed, booze, men and BDSM. The main character then realises that – out of desperation – she is compromising who she is and what she really wants.

Several male characters are woven into the plot as Jodie narrates her life, punctuated by short scenes between her and her various lust and love interests.

The main relationship explored is firstly between Jodie and Ray, and secondly between Jodie and her newly-divorced self.
